Meta IP Tools

Meta IP includes the tools to find, analyze, and manage the data in a large datastore.

Site Deployment Wizard

The Site Deployment Wizard walks you through creating your DNS and DHCP services for a site, including forward and reverse zones, common resource records, shared networks, static routes, DHCP options, parameters, lease pools, and MAC Address Authentication.

If you deploy the SAFE Registration Framework, the Site Deployment wizard will also walk you through the creation of your SAFE DNS service.

Configuration Analysis Tools

Configuration Analysis tools provide reports that you can run on your DHCP lease pools and DNS services and zones to troubleshoot problems and examine configuration and usage. Meta IP provides each tool as a configurable template that you can save and use again at a specific time, a specific date, or a specific interval. You can display an analysis on the screen, to a table, or to a file that you can further customize. Analysis Tools includes three DNS templates, two DHCP configuration templates and the Lease Reclamation Tool.

Users and Groups

Using the Users and Groups tool, you can import additional Meta IP administrators from your network that can connect to the Meta IP Management Console. You can grant the new administrators full access to all objects, or you can limit access to a particular service, zone, or lease pool. You can limit what objects they can view, or limit objects they can change.

User Data

You can define the following User Data for any object in the Meta IP datastore

• Contact Information
• Site Information
• Asset Information
• User Defined Data and Notes 

Once defined, you can search on any of this information throughout the datastore.

Templates

You can create a variety of customized service and object templates for deployment throughout your enterprise. You can base the templates on specific functions of the DNS or DHCP server, location information, access control, or any configurable parameter or option. The configuration possibilities of the templates are completely within your control.

Networks View

The Meta IP Networks view displays all enterprise networks and subnets. You can add and generate network groups, networks, reverse zones, and lease pools in this view once you create the DNS and DHCP services. A network calculator is included.

Dynamic View

The Meta IP Dynamic view displays current DNS and DHCP activity. You can search for all records and leases, or a particular record or lease. You can also obtain lease pool statistics from the Dynamic view.

SNMP

Meta IP includes over 100 SNMP data points.
